| The small carr wood is similar to many others in this sandstone country, with very wet conditions where the porous sandstone meets the underlying Kimmeridge Clay. The tree cover is chiefly alder, with some ash, particularly on the upper slopes. The west streamsides have a wealth of spring wild flowers such as kingcup and opposite-leaved golden saxifrage. |
